Becoming catholic at st charles

RCIA 2024-2025

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process where adults (18+ years) become fully initiated Catholics through the Sacraments of Baptism, First Eucharist (Communion) and Confirmation each year during our Easter Vigil.

We are excited to invite you to join our Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) program. Whether you are interested in becoming Catholic, completing your sacraments, or simply exploring your faith, RCIA offers a supportive community and enriching journey. Through weekly sessions, you’ll learn about Catholic teachings, participate in discussions, and deepen your relationship with God.

Our dedicated team is here to guide and support you every step of the way. Join us as we walk together in faith and discover the beauty of the Catholic tradition.

Sessions begin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, and we will continue to meet every Wednesday.

Our ministry leaders are Jay Hines, Kathy Allen, and Ken Simons. Father Augustine Joseph, our pastor, will be part of the team too. We look forward to welcoming you!

For more information or to register, please contact me by phone (925) 447-4549 ext. 115, or by email: carmela@stcharlesborromeo.org. You can also fill out the form to the right.

For those seeking to be baptized the closing date is November 1, 2024.

For those already baptized but seeking first eucharist & confirmation the closing date is January 1, 2025.

Journey of Faith series materials will be used in instruction.  However, the program is geared to the needs of the participants.  Journey of Faith materials are considered as guidelines. The use of the JOF is expected to help with session preparation and provide a firm lesson schedule.

Mass dismissals to discuss scriptures will take place during Lent only.  However, time will be taken during Wednesday evening sessions to discuss upcoming Mass scriptures.
