2026 Lenten Collection Details

One of the many important activities of the St. Charles Social Concerns Committee (SCC) is to sponsor the Lenten Collections, which begin on Ash Wednesday and continue through Holy Thursday. Parishioners can donate much-needed funding to the organizations supported by the SCC. 100% of your donation will support these agencies and directly benefit people most in need.

  ELIZABETH HOUSE, OAKLAND

  CASH donations are most appreciated. 
  The money will go to the most urgent needs.

•  February 21-22 - FIRST SUNDAY OF LENT:

  GOODNESS VILLAGE, LIVERMORE

   Monetary donations to support the most urgent needs.
  Gift cards to Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes and any food store.

•  February 28 - March 1 - SECOND SUNDAY OF LENT:

  INTERFAITH SHARING FOOD PANTRY, LIVERMORE

  Family-size non-perishables:
  Peanut butter, honey, oatmeal, cereal, powdered milk, cereal bars,
  canned fruit, canned tuna, lunch box juices,
  rice, plastic jars of jam & jelly, mayonnaise, pasta sauce
  1-lb. packages of spaghetti, macaroni, dry pinto/black beans,
  cooking oil, coffee, Hamburger/Tuna Helper.

• March 7-8 - THIRD SUNDAY OF LENT:

  TRI-VALLEY SEEK & SAVE, LIVERMORE

  Tri Valley Seek and Save is a Christ-centered organization
  focused on sharing the gospel while working to prevent vulnerable families,
  particularly single mothers, from losing their children to the foster care system.
  They are in need of $25 gift cards for Safeway, Ross Stores, or gasoline.
  Monetary donations are also welcome.

  TRI-VALLEY HAVEN FOOD PANTRY, LIVERMORE

  OAKLAND CATHOLIC WORKER, OAKLAND

  Gift cards to Target or Walmart, and Clipper Cards for transportation,
  are also appreciated.

  OPEN HEART KITCHEN, LIVERMORE

  Monetary donations are requested
  to support their various programs that provide meals and support
  to individuals and families facing food insecurity.

• April 2 - HOLY THURSDAY:

  ST. VINCENT de PAUL FOOD PANTRY
  at St Michael Catholic Church, Livermore

  Monetary donations are most appreciated.
  Additional needs include family-size food items, dry beans,
  rice, canned chili, and other canned goods, bread,
  peanut butter, jam, canned tuna, spam, canned chicken,
  and toiletries, as well as gift cards to Target or Walmart.

●     Make checks payable to St. Charles and memo Lenten Collections or agency name. (If an agency is not specified, cash and checks designated for “Lenten Collections” will be divided equally among the eight agencies.)

●     New This Year: You may now make CREDIT CARD DONATIONS on-site, thanks to our new “Donation Station.” All major credit cards are accepted, as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.
