beginning the weekend of November 16-17 2024
The Giving Tree
at St. Charles Borromeo
We, as the caring, generous community of St. Charles Borromeo, have an opportunity to make a difference through our annual Giving Tree. Our project serves to support those who are alone, who can barely meet their families' shelter and food needs, and/or provide Christmas gifts for their children. There are a variety of gifts or gift cards to donate for all ages or, we gratefully accept donations by check or on-line donations. Give what you can!
The Giving Tree starts the weekend of November 16-17. We will have a tree and category boards in the church to support seven recipient groups:
Students and their families (nominated by Child Welfare Specialists at Livermore schools)
Families registered for Tri-Valley Haven’s holiday program
Residents of Goodness Village (the 28-tiny home project for those formerly unhoused)
Client families from Catholic Charities East Bay
Our unhoused brothers and sisters (served by local homeless advocates)
Children of those incarcerated at Santa Rita Jail
Residents of Vineyards Health Care convalescent home (formerly known as Kindred or Hacienda)
By sharing what we have, we will respond to God’s call and bring Christmas joy to others. As St. Francis of Assisi said, “It is in giving that we receive.”
